  • One of our recent work was on behalf of a partner in car dealership, prevailed on claims of fraudulent conveyance and corporate veil piercing in a court trial.  Obtained judgment against all defendants for over $400,000 and order to freeze defendants’ bank accounts.
  • In a 4 day jury trial in Wisconsin federal court, successfully defeated claims of over $185,000 brought by subcontractor against local, prominent, commercial contractor.  Obtained offsetting judgment on counterclaim.
  • Assisted property owner in appealing and overturning decision of Bureau of Development Services that otherwise would have allowed development of large, multifamily structure in quaint, residential neighborhood.
  • Prevailed in jury trial in two-year battle between owners of taxicab company. Obtained declaratory judgment voiding expulsion of client, and won $213,572 verdict for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims. Defeated all counterclaims, totaling $500,000.
  • Defended college president in $4.88 million lawsuit filed by employee for alleged sexual assault. Obtained favorable settlement against employee, including dismissal of all claims without any payment or other obligation by client. In addition, obtained monetary compensation for client from college.
  • Represented reputable multi-state construction firm in perfecting $750,000 construction lien and collecting owed sums on $5.5 million project.
  • In property rights lawsuit, successfully defended client’s easement from foreclosure by county.
  • Obtained favorable settlement in probate action for local beer brewer acquiring interests in five local pubs from deceased business partner.
  • On behalf of gas station owner, successfully defeated adjacent property owner’s motion for summary judgment and prevailed on gas station owner’s motion, limiting client’s exposure on asserted claims.
  • Formed new limited liability company for prominent local restaurant owned by award-winning baker.
  • Negotiated favorable settlement for owner of commercial mall in dispute with tenant who abandoned store and left behind merchandise.
  • Successfully defended against fraud claim asserted by international automotive manufacturer and distributor against reseller.
  • Assisted owner of popular, local restaurant in sale of assets and assignment of lease.
  • Prevailed on summary judgment motion defeating adjacent landowner’s defenses and counterclaims in lawsuit over access easement. Prevailed in subsequent trial and obtained injunctive relief against opposing party’s interference with easement.
  • Prevailed in arbitration of behalf of homeowner against large construction company that initiated arbitration resulting in an award of economic damages and significant punitive damages against contractors.
  • Successfully defended against multi-million dollar fraud claim in dispute over purchase of commercial mall and split breach of contract claims in two-week jury trial.
  • Assisted local ice cream maker and merchant in establishing business, expanding business with investors, and negotiating lease agreements.
  • Successfully defended architect in jury trial against breach of contract claims brought by developer relating to a multi-unit development.
  • Defended and obtained favorable settlement for computer search engine optimization (SEO) company in federal lawsuit over methods to enhance search engine placement and intellectual property issues.
  • Represented purchaser in combined acquisition/lease of $2.5 million ski lodge/golf resort.
  • Represented seller in sale of $6.2 million commercial plaza.
  • Reached favorable settlement for minority LLC members in complex, multi-million dollar arbitration regarding the ownership of multiple real properties, defense of claims against members, and prosecution of claims against third parties.
  • Represented majority shareholders in termination and buyout of minority shareholder from established environmental consulting firm.
  • Represented commercial property owner against city agencies for alleged fire code violations, building code violations, and worker safety issues. Filed claims against the city’s “Hit Squad” for violation of constitutional and other protections.
  • Defended business owner against complex, multi-state civil claims and assisted in convincing U.S. Attorney’s office not to file criminal charges.
  • Assisted popular non-profit in multi-state collection action and bankruptcy claim against vendor that misappropriated fees collected on behalf of the nonprofit.
